Directory of foundations - Insight

Each of Baden-Württemberg's four regional councils (foundation authorities) maintains a list of foundations with legal capacity that have their registered office in the respective administrative district. You can inspect this list.

Ecclesiastical foundations are excluded from this. You can usually obtain information about these from church organisations.

The following are entered in the register of foundations

• Name and address
• Registered office
• Purpose
• Authorisation to represent and composition of the foundation's authorised bodies
• Date of attainment of legal capacity
• Recognising authority

The foundation must notify the foundation authority of any change of address and any change in the composition of the bodies authorised to represent the foundation. However, the entry in the foundation register does not justify the assumption that it is correct.
