Foundation directory - Inspecting
Each of the four regional councils of Baden-Württemberg (foundation authorities) maintains a list of foundations with legal capacity that have their registered office in the respective administrative district.
Note: Church foundations are excluded from this. Information on these can usually be obtained from ecclesiastical institutions.
The following are entered in the list of foundations
- Name and address
- Registered office
- Purpose
- Power of representation and composition of the foundation's representative bodies
- Date of acquisition of legal capacity
- Recognising authority
The foundation must notify the foundation authority of any change of address and any change in the composition of the organs authorised to represent the foundation. However, the entry in the foundation register does not justify the presumption of its correctness.

Prerequisite
The foundation directory may be inspected by any person without stating reasons.
Procedure
You can inspect them at the respective regional council. An informal registration with the foundation authority is sufficient.
Tip: The easiest way to obtain information on individual foundations is on the internet.
You can find registers in the "Foundations" topic portal. In some cases, the foundations registered in the administrative district are listed according to foundation name, foundation purpose and foundation seat.
Please note: This is not the foundation directory. The directories accessible on the internet only contain foundations that have agreed to this type of publication.
