Apply for approval in individual cases/project-related type approval

Do you want to use a construction product or apply a type of construction for a building project in Baden-Württemberg and do not have a valid certificate of usability or applicability? Apply online here for approval in individual cases (ZiE) or a project-related type approval (vBg).

Construction products or types of construction may only be used, i.e. installed in a building, if it has been proven under building law that they fulfil basic requirements.

These requirements relate to

• mechanical strength and stability
• Fire protection
• Hygiene, health and environmental protection
• Safety and accessibility during use
• Sound insulation
• Thermal insulation

The following apply as building regulations for construction products

1. the Technical Building Regulations (Administrative Regulation on Technical Building Regulations (VwV TB),
2. a general building authority approval,
3. a general building authority test certificate,
4. the possible assignment of the construction product to Chapter D of the VwV TB,
5. generally recognised rules of technology,
6. a CE marking if the declared performance fulfils the requirements of the construction project or
7. a European Technical Assessment (ETA).

If the construction product cannot be assigned to any of the verifications 4 to 7 or if it deviates significantly from verifications 1 to 3, you need individual approval for the construction product.

The following apply as proofs under building law for a type of construction

1. the Technical Building Regulations (VwV TB),
2. a general type approval,
3. a general building authority test certificate or
4. a European Organisation for Technical Assessment (EOTA) Technical Report.

If the type of construction cannot be assigned to Verification 4 or if it deviates significantly from Verifications 1 to 3, a project-related type approval is required for its application.
