Landespsychotherapeutenkammer - Register membership
As a psychotherapist, psychological psychotherapist or child and adolescent psychotherapist in Baden-Württemberg, you must register with the Baden-Württemberg Chamber of Psychotherapists.
The main tasks of the chamber include
- to represent the professional interests of its members
- to promote their further education and training and
- to monitor the fulfilment of professional duties.
Please note: If you relocate your psychotherapeutic activity abroad, you can remain a voluntary member upon application. This also applies if you only move your place of residence abroad without working professionally. Persons who are in training to become a psychological psychotherapist or a child and adolescent psychotherapist in accordance with the PsychThG in the version valid until 31 August 2020 (PiAs) can also become voluntary members.

Prerequisite
You are obliged to become a member if you
- are licensed as a psychotherapist, psychological psychotherapist, psychological psychotherapist, child and adolescent psychotherapist or have a licence to practise the profession in accordance with the Psychotherapists Act and
- Carry out your professional activity in whole or in part in the state of Baden-Württemberg or, if you do not carry out your activity, have your place of residence in Baden-Württemberg.
Are you a citizen or national of a member state of the European Union (EU) or the European Economic Area (EEA) or another contracting state? Then you do not have to register with the State Chamber of Psychotherapists if you only practise your profession here temporarily and occasionally. The prerequisite is that you are professionally established in another European contracting state.
Procedure
You must register in writing. You can obtain the required registration form from the State Chamber of Psychotherapists or on the Chamber's website. Sign it and send it to the State Chamber of Psychotherapists with the required documents.
The State Chamber of Psychotherapists will enter the new members in the register of members.

- if you have acquired other psychotherapy qualifications: Proof (only overall certificates, no individual certificates of participation in individual courses)
- Licence certificate or proof of authorisation to practise the profession in accordance with the Psychotherapists Act
The application form contains an information sheet listing all the required documents.
Please note: You must submit a certified copy of your licence to practise, and a single copy of all other documents.

Depending on income and status, a reduced fee or a minimum fee is possible. For more information, please contact the chamber.
Note: Membership is free of charge for psychotherapists in training (PiAs).
